- Catch Story: We were on our first family fishing trip to lake of the woods and stayed at Sportsman's in Baudette, MN on the rainy river. This was day 2 of our trip and my son Wyatt hooked a big fish. He sat there and reeled and reeled until the fish came to the surface. Once everyone on the boat saw the fish we started yelling net!!!! We had very good luck on the whole trip but this fish definitely made the trip! I told my son Wyatt (7) that this was a fish of a lifetime and he said no....the guide Ralph said there are 32" walleye in here! What some people spend their whole lifetime trying to catch...Wyatt has done at age 7.
