- Catch Story: My buddy just put his permanent ice shanty out for the first time of the season. We had been fishing for a couple hours catching smaller walleye and simply enjoying the comfort of a permanent. Then, all of a sudden the rattle wheel started to peel off. I set the hook and had a hand battle of a lifetime. We first thought it was a northern pike but as it finally ran out of steam and came to the hole it ended up being this healthy walleye. We took a couple cloudy pictures then I released her back into the lake in hopes I can catch a 30" next year.
