- Catch Story: It was getting dark out and my friend and I had yet to even see a musky all day long. We decided that we were going to head in for the night, and my friend began to pack up some equipment and pull up the trolling motor to leave the lake. I decided to make one last cast in towards the shoreline that we were fishing. I could not see where my lure hit the water, but I began my retrieve with the topwater lure I was casting. A few moments into my retrieve, I heard a large splash followed by a strong pull on my rod. We immediately knew we had hooked a large musky. After fighting the fish to the boat, were able to quickly net, measure, and release the 49.75 inch musky.
