- Catch Story: We were fishing with a guide on Lake Mille Lacs for my husband's birthday. After watching him catch four smallmouth bass without getting a single bite - I finally caught a fish. I reeled in a 19.5" smallmouth. I dropped a new minnow and shortly thereafter my line was hit again - as I was reeling in the fish I thought it was big - as I saw it near the surface, I knew it was big! We measured it - 21" and 4.62lbs!
