- Catch Story: On Sept 1st we were fishing out of Ballards resort on Lake of the Woods. We were fishing a large mud flat in about 32' of water, winds at about 15 mph and a decent chop on the water. I was useing a 6'6" StCroix med action spinningrod with a Shimano reel loaded with 6# Cabelas Floralcarbon line and a quarter ounce gold round head jig with a small dead shinner and piece of night crawler. I was jigging from about an inch or two from the bottom when I felt some weigt on my line and hooked into the biggest walleye of my life and will be the 1st walleye I have ever mounted.
