  • Catch Story: We were having a family fishing tournament with 3 possible trophy's. The "Bowen Biggie"(biggest fish) "Cutfoot Caster"(most fish) and "Winnie Weenie"(smallest fish). We chose to fish for perch with jig and minnow to try and go for all 3 knowing there was a chance for a random Pike or Walleye. At the two hour mark Mila hooked into this giant rock bass on her zebco kid caster and was able to land the catch of a lifetime. We took a quick measurement and I knew immediately it was a state record contender. While it was a bit short on inches it was certainly in the conversation for weight. We didn't have a scale and didn't want to kill such a beautiful fish for a chance at a record so we let it go. Perch fishing was really slow so we trolled a bit and called it a day. She ended up with 8 total fish and won the "Cutfoot Caster" trophy for catching the most fish!
