- Catch Story: I went out to a spot the weekend before I had fairly good luck, I pulled up 6 walleye in about 1.5 hours. This particular day me and my friend Lee got out on the ice at about 5:30 am and by 8:30 we had not even marked a fish. I was almost starting to question my decision to wake up early on my day off when I marked a fish on the bottom. As I began to jig the fish came right up after my lure. I was getting what looked like multiple fish on my Marcum. I played the fish up another foot or two and my line went limp. One I set the hook I knew it was a nice fish. Luckily Lee was there to help me land her, as she got the line wrapped around the transducer. Once I saw her head I got really excited and was yelling at Lee to "grab it," he was uncertain whether I was talking about the fish or the transducer. He ended up getting her out of the hole and I got to take a good look at her, snap a few pictures and then watch her swim away, hopefully to make it up the river and lay her eggs.
