- Catch Story: My family has been fishing with Justin Lightfoot the last 3 years during the 4th of July. Fishing hasn't always been the best the time we come to visit from Missouri, but we enjoy Justin's company and we usually catch some good Walleye with him. This year was very tough the 6th of July when we went with Justin, my son in law Stephen was the only one to catch a walleye that day. He caught 2 that day. At the end of the day, Justin called my son in law Quintin, and invited us back out the following morning because the fishing was so poor. We felt very grateful for the opportunity to go back out. We met Justin in Perham, Minnesota at the DQ at 6:30am and we were on the water by 6:45 am. By 7:03am I was hooked up with the first fish and it happened to be the biggest Walleye I have ever caught. It felt like the moment lasted a century but in reality it was a few minutes from the time I was hooked up, fish was in the net, measured, pictures taken, and the fish was released. The previous year in 2021, I caught a 28" Walleye on the same lake, and I never thought I would surpass that. Well I was wrong. What a day!
