- Catch Story: My buddy Hunter Kavanagh and I were fishing Big Kandi Lake in Willmar, MN and were fishing for fall walleyes. I had already caught a 5.57 lb largemouth bass at around 6 P.M. and we were fishing until sunset. At 7:15 P.M. on 10/10/23 we were fishing 2-3 feet of water towards shore from my boat and I hooked into something big. Felt a head shake and knew it was a big walleye. Netted and boated the fish, took a measurement, got a few pictures and safely released the fish to be caught another day. Fish measured 26 inches right on the dot and is my biggest walleye to date!
