- Catch Story: I was fishing with my friend Mike on Lake Buchanan where my parents have a cabin. Buchanan is usually a good bass lake and we try to fish it at least once a year. We went out to fish the back side of a weed bed that borders one of the few holes (15ft+) in the back bays. Usually we get bass and northern in the spot. We weren't out more than five minutes when I got the walleye on a black plastic leech. We were really surprised when we got it in the boat as we have never gotten a walleye out of Buchanan before and we were casting for bass. I put the walleye in the live well so we could get some better pictures and decide whether we were going to make a meal out of him. Ultimately, I decided to let him go.
