- Catch Story: It was a gorgeous day on the ice. Overcast skies, 35 degrees, light breeze, and never even set up a shelter. Within 5 minutes of getting lines down my buddy caught a baby walleye. Then we sat for an hour without a bite. We were thinking that quick fish jinxed us. Then suddenly a wave of giant flashes showed on the Vexilar. My buddy's pole bent, and my tipup flag flew up. Double header monsters. What a thrill. We were even more thrilled to see 2 giant catfish on the other ends of our lines. Mine was a 30 incher, my buddy's was a 35 incher. We hooked two others in the next 10 minutes also. Then it was quiet again. Amazing 15 minutes on the ice though. Definately going back soon.
