- Catch Story: Boom goes the Dynamite! The water exploded and then boiled like an erupting volcano! 8 year-old Drake’s rod doubled over and drag screamed off his reel. “Dad It’s a Super Tanker” Drake yelled leaning into his rod with all his might. Massive head thumps of the monster fish sent Drake’s rod bobbing up and down. Drake kept his cool and kept pressure on the trophy while Dad panicked clumsily trying to ready the net. Slowly Drake was gaining ground and bringing the mighty fish in. Dad finally had the net boat side when her massive head came into view. Then suddenly she turned and dove. As she dove her incredible tail with the distinctive white spot of a walleye came out of the water. It was like a scene of whale fluke you see on the discovery channel. Drake heaved and brought her back to the surface. A huge swirl appeared at the edge of the boat. CRACK! The sound of a whip echoed as the tip of Drake’s rod went straight. In disbelief Drake starred at the tip of his lifeless rod with his line blowing in the wind. Emotions welled up in Drake from some place deep inside. But just before they over came him, he looked over at his Dad struggling to hold the net up high. A gigantic 27 ¼ Walleye laid inside the net bowed and spilling over the edges.
