  • Catch Story: We had fished the area about an hour earlier for bass and came back to make a few more casts. My daughter -in -law Laura wanted to catch a bass to have her picture taken with her son Noah. I made a long cast with a spinnerbait and the fish hit. I told my son and his wife it was a solid fish. Laura got the net and stood by me as the fish came closer to the boat. We did not know what it was. The fish swam past the back of the boat and Laura and I saw how big it was. We both called for Brian to help and Laura gave him the net as she went to the front of the boat. The net was only about 16" diameter and on Brian's first try he was only able to get the head in. The fish pulled out and I was able the swing it by again. Brian let the head go past the net slightly then started raising the net under the body. The fish folded into the net and he lifted it into the boat. Great netting !!!! I had caught a 30.25" walleye 4 days earlier about 15 yards from where I caught this fish on the exact kind of spinnerbait.
