- Catch Story: I was throwing a spinnerbait trying to catch one more smallmouth to reach my limit when the walleye hit. When I first saw the fish swim by I wondered why a carp had hit my spinnerbait. But when I was able to raise it up closer to the surface and it started splashing I knew it was a walleye. I had never seen one this big. I was able to coax it into the net after a few tries. I was able to make a few more casts and did get my limit of nice smallmouth to help top off the outing.
