- Catch Story: We were fishing in Portage Bay in Leech Lake on the edge of the reeds in 5-7 feet of water. I was fishing for perch with an ultra light using a pilky and a worm when I felt a huge tug on my line. After a 10 minute battle we finally saw what was fighting me and what a surprise it was. Being from Iowa I had absolutely no idea. What it was until my dad looked it up online, then we weighed and measured it, and called a friend from the area and he said it was a master angler.
