Bruce ‘Doc’ Samson, known universally in the walleye world as ‘Doctor Sonar’, is famous for his educational classes, seminars, DVDs and articles teaching thousands of anglers around the world how to read, interpret, and master their marine electronics. Samson is a successful walleye angler, beginning his career in 1986 as a Masters Walleye Circuit competitor. When asked what his most memorable moment in his fishing career is, he recalls when the last angler weighed in at the 2002 RCL Walleye Championship, and he realized he had won $300,000. He notes this as an amazing experience. Samson spends long hours learning the challenging aspects of teaching and business. Additionally, he spends much time preparing for tournaments. Competition has always been part of his life, and he especially loves the preparation that goes into the sport.
