- Catch Story: Ate in heavy current under submerged piping maybe 4ft below the surface. I felt an extremely hard thump on my line and set the hook. The fish started to swim towards me. Not expecting such a large fish I tried to bring it up coming towards the boat. But that wasn't about to happen. This fish gained weight and momentum all the sudden and started to take off down river. I quickly got on the trolling motor and followed this fish for what seemed like a half an hour. Before finally seeing the beast. Finally got a glove on and tired her out enough where I could grab her by the mouth cause my net wouldn't be able to handle this fish. Was able to get a good hold on her and land this fish. So massive I could barely hold it up. Broke my 50lb scale while trying to weight it. Had bent the hook out straight and I just bought it.
