- Catch Story: I was fishing the lake with my husband and son and had never caught a Smallmouth Bass before. My first catch of the day was a little Smallie and I was exited to finally catch one. Then later in the day after fishing many of the bays and not catching much at all I hit the jackpot. I thought it was a Northern but to my surprise it was a huge Smallmouth Bass and what a fun fish to reel in. It was definitely worth the 4 hour drive to Babbitt.
