- Catch Story: I caught this buffalo last weekend fishing Bass Ponds in Bloomington. This is near Long Meadow Lake and the Minnesota River. I don't know the weight, but I'm guessing based on length and girth it was roughly 18 pounds. I caught it on a small swim bait while casting for crappies with eight pound line. We also didn't have a net and my friend had to grab it and lift it out by hand as I reeled it in.
